The Concept
The Concept blends proven structures, demonstrating the effectiveness of the cohort model. These academies stand as a testament to its success.

Here are some systematic issues and biases that present several unique challenges that we feel support the need for "The Concept" and MCCA:
1. Bias and Stereotyping
2. Disproportionate Discipline
3. Lack of Representation

4. Cultural Disconnect
5. Systemic Inequities

Statemen College Preparatory Academy
"A first-class educational experience" At the epicenter of its academic model is Kings 101, the social studies class that centers Black history. “That class made me feel like royalty,” said Kiye. “It helped me understand who I am, by showing me the people that I am descended from, by explaining to me my potential. It showed me who I am and who I could be.”

Urban Prep Academies
The Urban Prep motto is We Believe. Our motto is a constant reminder that Urban Prep students will not fall into the trap of negative stereotypes and low expectations. Instead, Urban Prep students believe in their potential and believe in their ability to exceed that potential. The Urban Prep family (teachers, administrators, staff, board of directors, community members and donors) also believe in these young men, and in our important and long lasting role in their lives. At Urban Prep, We Believe.
